1999

In 1999, I took this picture by the window of my room.

When I was 3 years old, my family and I moved to this small town. Our house was surrounded by green farmland.  In the night,we could hear crickets and frogs sing. I really miss the days that falling asleep in that kind of nature sound.

In this picture,we can see that there are 2 houses at the end of the road. The houses owner is my mother`s good friend and good neighbor.They always chatted together,and I also liked to play with those neighborhood kids all day long. In this road,I learned how to ride the bicycle.

2013

Along the same road,the farmland were all filled with new houses as time go by. As for new neighbors,we know no one. My mother`s good friend is a grandma now,she is busy taking care of her lovely grandson. There are still many neighborhood kids playing outside in the afternoon,but they are all strangers for me.

Because of the increase of population,a 24-hr convenience store was opened near this area in 2010. In addition to this,more and more buses pass this place. Our life is more convenient and safe. Sadly,we can`t hear any nature sounds in the night anymore.
