Wuqi District 


Wuqi District (梧棲區) is a coastal suburban district in the southwest of Taichung, bordering Longjing District to the south, Chingshuei District to the north and Shalu District to the east.
From the map above,we can see that Wuqi District shapes like a rectangle.The width from the east to west is 3.75 kilometers, and the length from north to south is 4.419 kilometers.

The average temperature is 22.6 degree Celsius annually. Because of facing Taiwan Strait , this district has a coast type climate, receiving the most rainfall in spring and summer. Just like the other places of Taiwan ,Typhoon and heavy rain is expected from May to August. In addition to this, the wind and the sea waves here are very powerful, especially in winter.

According to the official website, there are 14 neighborhoods in Wuqi District, namely Tingliao, Hsiaoliao, Jhongjheng, Jhongho, Wenhua, Anjen, Tsaonan, Nanjien, Fude, Dazhuan, Dacun, Hsinnong, Yungnin and Yungan. The population is estimated to be 55,777 people as of Jun, 2012. The total households are 15,709. Of them, Dazhuan Neighborhood has most people living.
